What is the venue like?
Danby Castle Barn is a charming and rustic wedding venue set within the stunning North York Moors. The barn blends historic character with modern touches, offering a cozy and romantic space. With exposed beams, stone walls, and breathtaking countryside views, it’s perfect for an intimate, unforgettable day. The venue is fully licensed for ceremonies and boasts versatile spaces for dining and dancing.
Where do I park during the wedding and reception?
There is parking available just off site, less than a minutes walk away.
What time should we arrive?
The ceremony starts at 2pm, however, the doors will open at 1pm and the bar will be open for guests.
Evening guests can arrive from 7pm onwards, with “cake” cutting estimated for 7:45 and the first dance and party to commence from 8pm.
Can I bring a guest / +1?
If you received a plus one or your guest’s name is listed on your invitation, then yes! Otherwise, we would love to keep our wedding as an intimate event with close family and friends only.
Are children invited?
Invitations will be specific and we request you only bring children that are included on your invite.
Can I take & post pictures of the wedding on social media?
We will be having an “unplugged ceremony”, meaning no phones or cameras. We have hired a professional photographer to capture these precious moments for us and promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them! After the ceremony, feel free to take & post as many pictures/videos as you would like.
Our only request is that you use the QR available throughout the venue so that all pictures can be gathered centrally!
Will the ceremony & reception be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be held indoors within the courtroom and the reception will be indoors within the barn. There is an outdoor area that can be used around the ceremony and reception.
